Thanksgiving

Found this out on a website, a possible prayer giving at the "first Thanksgiving" back in 1621 by Miles Standish..

Almighty God, we humbly thank you for all that these great bounties that you have visited upon our board. For the herbs and the beasts that have given their bodies and blood to nourish our bodies, as your son, our Lord, Christ Jesus, gave his blood to nourish our souls. We thank you Lord for the bounty of this place. For its magnificence and fruitfulness, and we hope that you might protect us against the dangers of the woods, and by the sea that might come. That if there be any enemies to us that you might smite them. That you might keep us and preserve our business and watch over us. Make us not in time become fat and prideful, but ever knowing that it only through the service of you that we have any wealth at all. And in all things we pray in the name of your son, Christ Jesus, the mediator of our case, Amen.

Think I might read this on Saturday to my family for the prayer. I got inspired by Linus from Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving. Although, he left out the "smiting the enemies" part.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. We went to Lynn's Brother's and had a good time. Relaxing back at the house right now, my parent's are coming into town tomorrow for Saturday feasting.

Later,
